I just watched Malick's 1973 film "Badlands" the other night. Sissy Spacek was practically a little girl! That was his first movie and like the rest, it was long on style and short on well, content?
The scenes where she and Martin Sheen are living in a tree house by a river with all their traps laid out were just outstanding. So many long, meditative nature shots.
